Everything you need to know about getting your turf and materials — whether you'd like it delivered or you're collecting from our yard.
Where we deliver
We deliver across Newcastle and the North East. Enter your postcode at checkout to see the options for your address.
Minimum order for delivery
Delivery is available from a minimum of 20 rolls of turf. Some areas have a higher minimum — your postcode at checkout will show what applies to you. Smaller orders are welcome for collection from our yard (see below).
When to order
Turf is cut fresh to order, so timing matters:
- Saturday–Thursday: order by 2pm and we can usually offer next working day collection at the earliest. Next-day delivery may also be possible where it fits our existing delivery schedule for your area.
- Saturday: orders for Saturday collection or delivery should be placed by 2pm on the Thursday to be confirmed (we may still agree Saturday collections and deliveries for Saturday but placed on Friday where possible only).
- Order as early as you can. We always try and give you the earliest date available, but slots fill up — the more days' notice you give, the better the chance of getting your preferred date.
Dates you choose are always a requested date. We confirm where we can, but they aren't guaranteed — occasionally weather affects cutting and can move things. We'll always keep you posted.
Delivery days and times
- We deliver 9am to 4pm Monday–Friday, and 9am to 1pm on Saturdays (Saturdays March to October only).
- Most orders arrive between 10am and 3pm on weekdays, and 10am and 1pm on Saturdays.
- We can't give an exact time slot, as turf is cut and loaded fresh each morning and routes are planned around all of the day's drops.
Saturday orders
Saturday collection and delivery are available from March to October. Saturday delivery carries a surcharge, added automatically at checkout when you choose a Saturday. Please place Saturday orders by 2pm on the Thursday to have them confirmed, and note that weather can still affect Saturday deliveries and collections.
You don't need to be home
You don't have to be in to receive your turf, as long as there's a suitable, safe place to leave it on or near the delivery point — a driveway, front garden or similar. Just tell us where when you order. If we attempt delivery and can't complete it because there's no safe place to leave the order and we can't reach you, the turf — being freshly cut — may be lost, and the order can't be refunded in that case. A fresh re-delivery would be charged as a new order.
Collection from our yard
Collect from: Pick-up point: Unit 2 (Newcastle Turf) Britannia House, Brunswick Industrial Estate, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE13 7BA.
- Fresh turf collection hours: Monday–Friday 9am–3:30pm, Saturday 9am–12:30pm (Saturdays March to October only).
- Collection is usually available next day on orders placed by 2pm (Monday–Thursday), and on Saturdays for orders placed by 2pm the Thursday before (or where confirmed for collection if placed on Friday). We will always accommodate where we can - to ensure availability, please order as far in advance as possible.
- Please call ahead on 0191 695 1985 so we have your order cut and ready.
- Collection is self-service — bring a capable helper and a suitable vehicle. Each roll weighs around 15–25 kg and our office staff can't help load.
Looking after your turf
Lay your turf as soon as you can after delivery or collection, and water it well - soak you lawn regularly and do not let it dry out. Turf left rolled up or unwatered can deteriorate quickly, especially in warm weather.
