Delivery

Everything you need to know about getting your turf, topsoil and landscaping supplies delivered across Newcastle and the North East.

Order in advance — turf doesn't need to be last-minute

People often leave ordering turf to the last minute, but there's no need. Turf doesn't have to be delivered the same day you lay it. Fresh-cut turf has a working life — once you've watered it generously after laying, it will establish nicely.

Order as far in advance as you can:

  • You'll have the best chance of getting your requested delivery day, especially for morning slots, which book up fastest.
  • We can plan our cutting and delivery routes around you rather than scrambling.
  • You don't pay any more for ordering early.

Best practice: order a few days ahead of your laying day, and request delivery for the day before you plan to lay (see below).

Booking your delivery day

When you place an order, you'll pick a preferred delivery day at checkout. The day you choose is a request, not a confirmation. We'll do our best to deliver on that day, but capacity, weather and the realities of fresh produce mean it isn't always possible.

Delivery hours are 9am to 4pm.

Request delivery to arrive the day before you plan to lay — this way there's no need to worry about which time it might arrive or have your tradies standing around.

Monday–Friday delivery has no added charge. Saturday delivery is available as a weekend delivery option (small additional charge), added automatically when you choose a Saturday in our calculator. Tip: If cost matters, Thursday or Friday delivery is a great substitute — fresh turf kept covered or uncovered but moist (don't let it dry out) is usually more than fine to lay on a Saturday.

Confirming your delivery day — message us on WhatsApp

The quickest way to confirm or check on a delivery is to message us on WhatsApp at 07400 766321. Please include:

  • Your order number (e.g. NT-1095)
  • Your delivery postcode
  • The name on the order (or delivery name if different)

We'll respond with your expected delivery day. WhatsApp lets us answer quickly without tying up the phone lines, especially during busy periods — so wherever possible, please reach out via WhatsApp rather than calling for delivery confirmations.

If you'd rather call: 0191 695 1985.

You don't need to be in

For most deliveries, you don't need to be at home. As long as you've told us where to leave it — driveway, side of the house, front garden, etc. — our driver will offload at a safe and accessible spot at your property. Just add any access notes at checkout, or message us on WhatsApp at 07400 766321 before the day. If you'd prefer to be there, that's fine too — just let us know and we'll do our best to give you a heads-up before arrival.

Turf delivery

Turf is loaded on pallets and delivered by van or small lorry. We can usually offload onto a driveway, in front of a property, or just inside an open gate. Each roll covers 1m² and weighs roughly 15–25 kg. Minimum delivery is 20–30 rolls depending on location.

We cut every roll fresh on the morning of delivery. Ideally lay your turf within 24 hours — but don't panic if you can't.

Turf has a working life. Fresh-cut turf doesn't die if you can't lay it the same day. The key is:

  1. Lay it on a suitable, prepared base — clean soil, raked level, free of stones and weeds.
  2. Water it thoroughly straight after laying — this is the single most important thing you can do.
  3. Keep watering generously for the next 2–3+ weeks until the roots take hold. Daily watering in dry weather, especially evening watering, makes the biggest difference.

Request delivery to arrive the day before you plan to lay — this way there's no need to worry about which time it might arrive or have your tradies standing around.

Topsoil delivery

Topsoil is delivered loose and tipped at your property — we don't deliver it bagged. Please make sure:

  • There's a clear, accessible spot for the driver to tip onto.
  • You're happy with the spot — once it's tipped, it's there.
  • The surface underneath is one you don't mind soil sitting on. We strongly recommend laying down tarpaulins, wood boards, or another suitable ground covering if you want to protect block paving, lawn, driveway or any other surface.

Larger quantities (over 5 tonnes) are typically delivered by an HGV-type vehicle. Please make sure the access road and tipping area can take a vehicle of that size — narrow lanes, low-hanging cables, tight turns and soft ground can all be issues. If you're not sure, message us on WhatsApp at 07400 766321 before you order and we'll talk through it.

Damage and liability

We do everything we can to deliver carefully, but please note we can't be held responsible for damage to driveways, lawns, paths or other surfaces caused by the weight of the vehicle or the tipping of loose materials when the delivery has been made to a location you've specified. If you have any doubts about access, please get in touch before ordering.

Prefer to collect?

Collection is fully self-service from our yard at Brunswick Industrial Estate, Newcastle upon Tyne. Our yard team may help where available, but loading isn't guaranteed — please bring a capable helper if you can't lift the rolls yourself (each is ~15–25 kg). See full Click & Collect details.
